Cost of Wellington Super City consultation

Dear Minister of Local Government,

I would like to request information under the Official Information Act.

I'd like to know how much the consultation process, undertaken by the Local Government Commission into the proposed council amalgamation in the Wellington region, has cost.

The cost should include the total amount spent throughout the process of consulting different bodies leading up to the draft recommendation that nine councils amalgamate.

I'd like for the final cost figure to be broken down to show exactly where the money was spent.

I'd also like to know how many different parties were consulted during the process, and when that process officially begun and ended.

If possible, I'd like the budgeted cost of the entire process going forward - so how much it's expected to cost altogether.
