Good Afternoon Mr Carter,

Thank you for your email requesting information on the New Tourism
Infrastructure Fund.   (email attached below)

MBIENZ have not yet announced the dates for submissions of applications
for the first funding round of the New Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

We envisage that this will be in the near future and will be assessing
prospective submissions against the outlined criteria requested from
MBIENZ once they have announced that criteria.

Kind regards

Colleen Litchfield

Dear Colleen Litchfield,

Thank you so can you tell me why on one hand the Council is saying they have made an application and the Mayor says they haven't? As per recent Coromandel meetings.

Yours sincerely,

Graham Carter

Dear Mr Carter,

There could be some confusion about which fund is in question, the New Tourism Infrastructure Fund has replaced the Mid-sized Tourism Facilities Grant Fund as at June 2017 with the expectation that the first funding round for the new fund opening for submissions in the second half of 2017.

We have previously submitted applications to the original Mid-Sized Tourism Facilities Grand Fund with successful outcomes.
Mid -Sized Tourism Facilities Grant Fund - closed in June 2017.
This fund was designed for Council co-investment with the Government for the provision of growth opportunities for tourism infrastructure of which $12 million over 4 years was allocated in the 2016 government budget.
TCDC had applied to both round 1 and 2 of this fund with successful outcomes.
Round one:
Rubbish compactors - Awarded January 207 - $178,000 (Council contribution $87,000, project total $265,000)
Hot Water Beach Effluent system upgrade - Awarded - January 2017 - $166,667 (Council contribution $83,333, project total $250,000)

Round two:
Pa road Hahei Toilet- Awarded June 2017 - $130,000 (Council contribution $50,000, project total $180,000)

New Tourism Infrastructure Fund
The Tourism Infrastructure Fund replaces the Regional Mid-sized Tourism Facilities Grant Fund, providing $100 million over four years for the development of tourism-related infrastructure such as carparks, freedom camping facilities, sewerage and water works and transport projects.
Announced as part of Budget 2017, the Tourism Infrastructure Fund supports local communities facing pressure from tourism growth and in need of assistance – areas with high visitor numbers but small ratepayer bases, for example. We have included the link to the current fund information.

A Tourism Infrastructure Priorities statement setting out objectives for each round will be issued by the Minister Tourism before each round is opened for applications.

Round one: We are awaiting on the opening dates and criteria based on the priorities statement from the Minister of Tourism when issued, however we are in in the process of evaluating projects based on the strict criteria already outlined that could be ready for this round of funding an example being Hannford's wharf - parking area sealing and shelter.

Please note: Funding round dates and criteria changes will be available to everyone on the MBIE website when announced.

Kind regards
Colleen Litchfield

Customer Satisfaction Survey

Whether you're a permanent resident, own a holiday home, operate a business or
you're a visitor to the Coromandel, our biggest priority is making sure we're
giving you value and good quality service.

That's why we've launched a monthly [10]customer satisfaction survey to get
feedback directly from you. At TCDC, customer service happens organisation-wide,
not just with the Contact Team, so we want to find out how well our organisation
provides you with service.

We also want to recognise any positive comments. If you think one of our team has
done a great job and has contributed to a positive customer experience, please let
us know so we can follow this up too.

There's several ways you can tell us what you think about the service we provide to
you.

* In the first week of each month we'll be emailing customers who have contacted
us in the previous month. Email addresses will be collected from contact made
through [11][Thames-Coromandel District Council request email]
* You can complete the survey by accessing the link in the signature line of our
Contact Team staff when they email you.
* Our Contact Team may ask you if you want to do the survey when you call us or
visit us at one of the TCDC offices. They can email you the link at any time if
you'd like it.
* The link to the customer service survey is [12]here.

All the survey results are anonymous, unless you'd like us to follow up with you.
Any significant issues will be escalated or followed up through the appropriate
channels.

This survey is not replacing our Request for Service system, which is for anyone
wishing to report a problem about anything from dogs and rubbish/recycling issues
through to building/consents and water/wastewater problems.  You can make a
[13]Request for Service online, or you can phone the Contact Team on  07 868 0200.
