From: J A Harris
Dear New Zealand Police,
Please provide information relating to the below for the period 1 Jan 21 to date, by month:
1. the number of enquiries/complaints/challenges PIB receive relating to infringements
2. the number of notices or enquiries which are escalated to adjudication
3. the number of notices or enquiries which are escalated to an adjudication supervisor
4. for 1, 2, and 3, the number of notices or enquiries which then result in the matter being withdrawn
5. for 1, 2, and 3, the number of notices or enquiries which then result in the notice being cancelled and a warning issued
6. for 1, 2, and 3, the number of notices or enquiries which proceed to a defended hearing
7. for 6, the number which proceed to a defended hearing and a guilty outcome
8 . for 6, the number which proceed to a defended hearing and a not guilty outcome
9. the average time frame for a response from PIB
10. the response time frame from adjudication
11. the response time frame from adjudication supervisor
12. Please also provide the details of any current internal KPI, SLA, target or other metric which applies to the PIB and PIB Adjudication. For example; average response time < 7 days, or number of open enquiries.
13. Please provide the performance compared to those metrics over the 1 Jan 21 to date period.
Please note where you seek to withhold or refuse any information under OIA s17 or s18 using the reasons in s6, I am proactively requesting you to provide the grounds in support of that reason.
That is to say, it is insufficient to state you are withholding for reason that disclosure is, for example, "likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial"; or "would disclose a trade secret"; or "would be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position"; you are required to lay out the grounds that support why the disclosure is likely to do so.
Please note, Police are required to respond within 20 working days. My recent OIA requests with Police have not been responded to in a timely manner as required by law. Please ensure this request is fully compliant with that law, in both response time and content.
Yours faithfully,
J A Harris
