Tēnā koe John

Thank you for your request of 3 March 2023, asking for the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

"details of all fees and reimbursements paid to past and present Board
members, by Board member, on a monthly basis, between 1 July 2022 and 28
February 2023."

This email is to let you know that Te Whatu Ora needs more time to make a
decision on your request.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 14 April 2023.

This extension is required because consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [1][Health New Zealand request email]

If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a
complaint to the Ombudsman. Information about how to do this is available
at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802 602.

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your reply. As this request is via FYI I'd like to keep all the communications regarding it in the public domain (rather than via phone calls).

Please can you email through any matters for clarification?

Thanks for your note.

To be sure we are giving you what you want, we wanted to confirm that you
are after the amount paid to each Board member, expressed month by month
for their work.

As we were finalising this, we recognised that the data that we had in a
table related to when money was paid by our finance team (which of course
is after the time period of when the work was done).  In a couple of
cases, amounts paid out in, say, October (when the payment was made)
included work done in one or two months prior.

Can you confirm what you are after please?  As above, we think it is the
amount paid to each Board member expressed month by month for their work -
but we wanted to check.  If this is the case, we have a bit more work to
do to go back to individual invoices to check the amounts for each month.

As our decision on your request is due today, I would be grateful if you
could respond soon. Regardless, we have decided to grant your request and
will provide the information, depending on your response to the above.

Dear Michael,

Thanks for this.

I am after the amounts paid for work carried out between 1 July 2022 and 28 February 2023 period. So for example, if work was carried out in February 2023 and the invoice was received in March 2023, please include the amounts on that invoice.

Hopefully this makes it simpler for you as does not involve reconciling to when the cash was actually paid.

Yours sincerely,

John
