Kia ora Mr Luke
Thank you for email of 10 February 2023 containing a request to
Christchurch City Holdings limited (CCHL) under the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).
You have asked CCHL to provide you with the following information:
1. How did CCHL call for public nominations in regards to the CCHL
independent director roles;
2. On what platform did CCHL call for public nominations;
3. How many applications have been received from the public and how many
applications have been received from other nominating agencies such as
TPK or Ministry of Women etc;
4. The job description of the role and the pay rate; and
5. The names and appointment terms of the current CCHL directors.
Items 1 & 2 – the roles were advertised by Propero Consultancy, on behalf
of the CCHL Appointments Committee, on the IoD website, LinkedIn and
Appoint better Boards. Propero also targeted candidates from their
proprietary database, ensuring a diverse range of candidates could be
considered.
Item 3 – a number of applications were received, however the appointment
process is ongoing and those details are considered confidential during
the selection and appointment process, therefore we have decided to refuse
your request under the following sections of the LGOIMA – (7(2)(b)(ii))
commercial activities (7(2)(h)), or negotiations (7(2)(i)), or protect the
privacy of natural persons (7(2)(a)).
Item 4 – a copy of the advertisement is attached, this outlines the
requirements of the role. Director remuneration is set out on page 187 of
CCHL’s 2022 Annual Report:
[1]https://www.cchl.co.nz/uploads/images/CC...
Item 5 – CCHL’s current directors are (provided on the CCHL website:
[2]https://www.cchl.co.nz/about):
Abby Foote (Chair) – appointed March 2023
Alex Skinner – appointed November 2016
Claire Evans – appointed August 2019
Barry Bragg – appointed September 2022
Michael Rondel – appointed September 2022
Sara Templeton – appointed February 2023
Sam MacDonald – appointed February 2023
In the CCHL's view the reasons for withholding these details are not
outweighed by public interest considerations in section 7(1) favouring
their release.
