Peter W French made this Official Information request to New Zealand Defence Force
New Zealand Defence Force did not have the information requested.
From: Peter W French
Dear New Zealand Defence Force,
This Official Information request is with regard to the "2022 Wellington protest" reported in Wikipedia here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Welli... - where it is stated that "The Defence Force was in discussions with the Police over the type of assistance it could provide in removing vehicles." My request is: Did the Defence Force also provide resources or equipment that might have assisted the NZ Police when "The protest was forcibly ended by police on 2 March 2022"?
If so, please provide full details of the type, and quantity, of all such resources/equipment supplied.
Yours faithfully,
Mr French

Dear Ministerial Services,
Re: Response to my request 'Was Defence equipment used on 2nd March at the "2022 Wellington protest"?'
With regard to the response statement "The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) did not provide any resources or equipment to the New Zealand Police", I am aware of a news report dated 16 February 2022 which states: "Four Defence Force vehicles have arrived in Wellington and are on standby should they be required." That news report is here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/1277870...
I have therefore sort clarification around this point within a further information request to the NZDF, here: https://fyi.org.nz/request/21699-clarify...
Yours sincerely,
Mr French
