Harris Leigh made this Official Information request to Department of Internal Affairs
The request was successful.
From: Harris Leigh
Dear Department of Internal Affairs,
Section 207K of the Electoral Act 1993 provides that an overseas donation or contribution may not exceed $50 https://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/publ...
The Local Electoral Act 2001 contains no equivalent provision.
Can you please advise where the rules relating to overseas donations to candidates running in the current local elections can be found?
Given the voting period has started, and this request only requires pointing to existing public information, please treat it as urgent and respond as quickly as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Harris Leigh
