Dear New Zealand Police,
I am requesting information regarding Canterbury recruits for the New Zealand Police.
1) How many current people are in the process for Canterbury by recruitment step.
2) What is being done to ensure all the current people in the recruitment process will be selected for a wing.
3) What the estimated timeframe is to ensure that all applicants get into a wing.
4) The number of recruits being taken to Police College for Canterbury over the next 2 years, if possible, broken down in to each wing. Eg 5 out of 60 for Canterbury in Wing 363 etc
5) The upcoming planned wings from this date continuing to the end of 2023

The due date of this request changed when the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day Act 2022 received royal assent on 21 September, because after that Monday 26 September 2022 was no longer considered a working day under the OIA.
Because of this, the legal due date for this request is Monday 17 October, though of course NZ Police still have an obligation to respond as soon as reasonably practicable.
It's quite an oddity, thankfully not something that changes very often.
