Get ready for nuclear war
M.R.M. made this Official Information request to National Emergency Management Agency
The request was partially successful.
From: M.R.M.
Dear National Emergency Management Agency,
I note that your website, https://getready.govt.nz/, provides information and advice about national emergencies. I am though concerned about the impact that nuclear war would have on New Zealand and all of its people, and, as citizens. I therefore feel the need to ask how we can prepare to mitigate against the negative effects of a nuclear aftermath, and, what work the government is currently doing to address the risks of societal failure and what steps are being taken to strengthen societal systems to prevent mere survival in the event of nuclear war?
Yours faithfully,
M.R.M.

From: M.R.M.
Dear Information [DPMC],
Whether or not my information request fits into the realm of the OIA, it is glaringly obvious that N.Z. has done little to nothing to prepare for nuclear war, and, as a consequence its residents and citizens will be plunged into a "every man / woman for him / her self" when this happens.
A deeply disturbing response all round.
Yours sincerely,
M.R.M.
