Dear Department of Internal Affairs,

Attention: The higher management of Citizenship office

Kia ora,
It has been almost 3 years since the issue started "expanded Citizenship Application by Grant Processing Time Frame".
We have been hearing that DIA are training and upskilling their case officers to tackle the backlog. We are not sure when this will end?
We have been hearing that DIA made automatic checks on applications and people failed automatic checks are going to abandoned queue.
May I know what are the differences between between people passed auto checks and didn't pass it? Are they considered to bad characters people or from a specific list of ethnicity/country? . I don't know what sin they have made to be treated like this?
If there is a glitch in the new system, please speak out and say the truth.
From what we have been hearing there are 28 case officers are working on automatic checks/ new system and 5 case officers are working on the failed auto check Queue. Is this true?

From what we been hearing that 2022 backlog almost done.
Based on the published numbers on RNZ last year only 14,954 Applications left from 2021 backlog as of Sep 2021. How many applications has DIA completed from this backlog?

People been waiting for so long and the time frame keep expanding. In fact, it increased twice in the last 2 months.

We are expecting a clear answer for the above please, so everyone will know where she/he/them stand on.

Ngā Mihi,

Julia Enderson
