Resourcing of Mayor's office

Matthew Andrews made this Official Information request to Wellington City Council

The request was successful.

From: Matthew Andrews

Dear Wellington City Council,

Under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 I request the following information:
1) The total budget allocated to the Mayor of Wellington's office each financial year from 2009-10 through to 2021-22.

2) The total number of staff employed in the Mayor's office each financial year from 2009-10 through to 2021-22.
To assist in responding, and without limiting the request, I note the following story in the NZ Herald refers to the current Mayor having a Chief of Staff and a public affairs adviser to the mayor/media adviser. So this would suggest in the 2021-22 year there are at least two staff in the Mayor's office. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/new-chief-...

3) The job titles of staff employed in the Mayor's office each financial year from 2009-10 through to 2021-22.

4) The salary bands applying to roles in the Mayor's office each financial year from 2009-10 through to 2021-22. Note to avoid revealing private information, please provide this information in salary bands no less than $10,000.

5) Any provision for spending on consultants directly by the Mayor without further approval required, each financial year from 2009-10 through to 2021-22.

If some of this information is available more readily than other information requested, please provide the information readily available as soon as possible and do not wait to be able to provide all requested information at the same time.

Yours faithfully,

Matthew Andrews

Kia ora Matthew,

Thank you for your email. I've spoken to our HR team about this one and unfortunately because we changed systems in the last few years, we're unable to provide data going back to 2009. We are able to provide the staff numbers and salary bands from the financial year ending 30 June 2016 through to current.

Please let me know if this will be an issue.

Ngā mihi

Kia ora Matthew,

Thank you for your below request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (the Act).

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 20 June. We hope to have the response to you prior to this.

This extension is necessary because choose one consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
