Thank you for your email of 11 May 2022 requesting the following under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

 

Why is the (Companies Office) website unavailable every Wednesday from 9
PM to 11 PM?

 

Wednesday night is the agreed night for our vendor to release non-urgent
enhancements, fixes and upgrades to Business Registries/Companies Office
systems. Access to the systems needs to be restricted when the releases
occur. This is why Business Registries/Companies Office systems frequently
have outages on Wednesday nights. Banners are placed on affected websites
to inform clients of outages. The time of 9pm to 11pm is chosen to limit
the impact to clients and allow time for post release testing, to ensure
the systems are working as expected.
