Theft and result statistics.

Oscar made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Oscar

Dear New Zealand Police.

I request the following information for the past 5 year period.

The number of theft, burglary and robbery reports.
How many resulted in someone being charged for the above crimes.
How many received the generic response below where no action was taken.

"Thank you for reporting your case to the Police on 01/01/2021. After looking at all the available evidence we have not been able to find out who is responsible. Unless more information or evidence is found, we can’t proceed any further with this case..."

Any statistics the police hold on the number of theft, burglary and robbery related crimes that are not reported.

Yours faithfully,
Oscar
