Thank you for your Official Information Act request seeking the following
information:

Please provide money paid to charities by the lotto commission in proceeds
by lotto, the names of those charities and the amounts to each charity.

It may be helpful for me to explain that the Lotteries Commission does not
make payments directly to Charities. It goes from the Lotteries Commission
to the Lottery Grants Board who then distribute it to Charities.

If you are requesting to find out what grants have been made to Charities
from the Lottery Grants Board, this information is published on Community
Matters website, [1]https://www.communitymatters.govt.nz/

In order for us to respond to your request more effectively, could you
please clarify the following:

o Specifically, what information you are seeking?
o What timeframe is your request related to?

Once you have clarified the above we can begin preparing a response to
your request.

Ngā mihi

Dear SDO Official Correspondence,
I need to know specifically that how much profit was made by the proceeds of playing lotto since its conception until today's date and how much of that was paid into the lotteries grant board fund then I would like to know of the amount paid in to the grant fund how much of this money has gone into housing for the needy, food banks for the needy, transportation for the needy, furniture for the needy, schoolbooks and uniforms for the needy, housing for the elderly and medical care equipment for the needy,. I would like to know what amount of profit has gone into television and media.

Yours sincerely,

Tui Aroha Williams

Dear SDO Official Correspondence,
All monies paid by lotto nz to fund or award tvnz and all media outlets. Don't forget to add the charities for humanitary reasons like elderly medical equipment food banks housing and such mentioned in last reply and I want all money paid to these charities and TV and media charities so as to acknowledge if there is shortfalls that could be used elsewhere because if you look around you at nz right now you would see what's needed and that people at the bottom need to advance to the middle in quality of life yet are being held down by the enabling of poverty and that lotto nz could should and hopefully would be on board to share any charitable funding to these causes .

Yours sincerely,

Tui Aroha Williams
