From: Jo
Dear Auckland Transport,
Could you please provide the following information:
1. Number of assaults against parking wardens in the calendar year 2021.
2. Does AT have a policy in place whereby it is mandatory for parking wardens to report assaults/threatening behaviour in order to monitor trends associated with such threats? If so, may I please have a copy?
3. Does AT have a policy in place to ‘stand down’ parking wardens affected by an assault or threatening behaviour while on shift? If so, may I please have a copy?
4. Does AT have a policy of providing mental health assistance (or other support) to parking wardens affected by an assault or threatening behaviour? If so, may I please have a copy?
5. When did AT most recently carry out a health and safety assessment related to assaults on parking wardens? We’re any additional measures required to ensure that AT meets its HSW Act obligations in relation to this threat?
6. Are parking wardens provided (or offered) training in self defence?
Yours faithfully,
Jo
