Vehicle fuel additive claims by Oil Companies
Mike Hunua made this Official Information request to Commerce Commission
The request was partially successful.
From: Mike Hunua
Dear Commerce Commission,
Has or does the commerce commission looked into the claims made by fuel companies that sell petrol and diesel with ""cleaning additives" that "improve fuel economy"" to prove or disprove that they are a) Being added to fuels at all, and b) whether the claims by some fuel companies around cleaning engines, fuel injectors and driving cars further with better mileage have any truth to them or are misleading.
If the commerce commission has or does investigate these claims made by oil companies could you release your findings even if the fuel companies brands have to be redacted due commercial sensitivities.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Hunua
