Dear Fire and Emergency New Zealand,

Seven Local Advisory Committees (LACs) were established under the Fire and Emergency Act 2017 to provide independent advice to Fire and Emergency about what communities value, their needs and the risks they face. Their stated purpose is to provide information and advice to assist FENZ planning and support for their communities. These 7 committees have now been operating for over 12 months.

Under the provisions of the OIA I request the following:

1. Copies of the independent information and advice (Outputs) that the Chathams LAC has provided to FENZ since its establishment. Please note that I do not seek copies of any quarterly report by the LAC to FENZ on their activities (Inputs) unless these include independent information and/or advice.

2. The same information with respect to the Hawkes Bay LAC as requested for the Chathams in 1. above.

Dear Alan Thompson  
I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your information request, dated 25
September 2021.   

In accordance with section 15 of the Official Information Act 1982 we will

·         we require further information to clarify, or to enable us to
process, your request;

·         we need to tell a third party who you are, in order to consult
on your request or information that relates to it.
