Local Government Official Information Request – Notification of Decision -
LGOIMA Reference 21-0070

 

We refer to your Request for Information under the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) regarding information
around the Director Strategic Partnerships position which was received by
the Bay of Plenty Regional Council (Council) on 13 July 2021 and
acknowledged by Council on 13 July 2021. 

 

Council has now made a decision on your Request.

 

Council has decided to provide the following information:

 

 1. A copy of regional council’s restructure/change policy. 

BOPRC does not have a specific restructure / change policy.  Where an
organisational change has been identified we refer to guidance from
Employment New Zealand.  However; as per item #3 below, we do not consider
this to be a formal restructure change process.

 

 2. A copy of the position description for the Director Strategic
Partnerships.

We don’t have a role with this tile.  We have assumed the request is
related to the Director Strategic Engagement and as such have provided
information on this basis.  Please find attached the copy of the Job
Description for the “Director Strategic Engagement”.

 

 3. A timeline of the process for this change proposal.

The purpose of this role is to lead on our Mâori Partnerships priority
area which is substantively the same as the role of the Manager Strategic
Engagement position that existed already within the organisation.
Therefore this was not considered a restructure change process.  The
process encompassed a change of reporting line (to the CE) and for the
role to become part of the Leadership team.  The job title was proposed to
change too to reflect this.  Discussion was undertaken with the incumbent
of this role at the end of May and a decision made to progress early in
June. 

 

 4. The names of the people consulted on when building the Director
Strategic Partnerships job description.

Fiona McTavish, Namouta Poutasi, Kataraina O’Brien and Karen Aspey.

 

 5. The date, method and duration of advertising for the position
