RealMe verified identity on MyMSD

Felix Lee made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development

The request was successful.

From: Felix Lee

Dear Ministry of Social Development,

When you apply for benefits or NZSuper on the MyMSD site, you can only use RealMe to login. You cannot use the 'RealMe verified identity' feature to prove your identity, you have to upload copies of documents to prove your identity. I want to find out more about this.

This is an OIA request for the following:

1. Number of registered MyMSD users
2. Of the number in 1, how many have associated a RealMe login to their MyMSD account
3. Of the number in 2, how many have a verified identity associated with their RealMe account
4. Are there any plans to implement RealMe verified identity on the MyMSD? If not why not.
5. A copy of any documents, memos, research, etc that explores implementing RealMe verified identity on the MyMSD service

I am a NZ citizen eligible to make OIA requests. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Yours faithfully,
Felix Lee

Mr Rodgers left an annotation ()

When I try to log into MyMSD I am presented with two choices. Either RealMe or a Client Number/PIN Number login.

My (verified) RealMe doesn't work. Logging in just cycles me back to the login screen.

So I was forced to provide my identity documents (e.g. bank statement) to activate the other login. The really stupid thing is, they wouldn’t accept me emailing the documents in. I either had to upload the same document or print it out and snail mail it in. How stupid is that?
