I refer to your request of 4 July 2021. The University’s response follows,

 

The University only has data on students from refugee background from
2018.  Note that this data relates to students who have voluntarily
self-identified as coming from a refugee background, and there are likely
to be students from refugee background at the University who have not done
so. Your requests for information on the number of students and graduates
who come from University backgrounds from 2011-2017 are refused under
section 18(g) of the Official Information Act 1982, as the University does
not hold this information.

 

1- The number of enrolled students who come from refugee backgrounds from
the year 2018 to 2021.

2018 - 283
2019 - 732
2020 - 822
2021 (to date) - 946

 

2- The number of graduates from refugee backgrounds from 2018 to 2021.

 

2018 – 120

2019 – 146

2020 – 163

2021 (to date) – 39

As of the date of this response, no staff members at the University’s
Equity Office come from a refugee background.

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
