Mr Jason made this Official Information request to University of Auckland

The request was successful.

From: Mr Jason

Dear University of Auckland,

Please provide the following data under the official information act.

Regarding the FMHS Fitness to Practise (FTP) policy, please provide
1) Number of Extraordinarily critical FTPs
2) Number of Critical FTPs
3) Numer of Non-Critical FTPs

Over the last 5 years by Health professional students/staff.

If possible would be excellent to have this divided up into

2) Degree/Department i.e. School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy etc.
3) Year e.g. 2020, 2019 etc.

And if not all the data as requested above, as much as possible e.g. year, would be appreciated.

I would like this data downloadable as an excel document.

Looking forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,
Mr Jason

Dear Mr Jason,

I refer to your request of 2 June 2021. You have requested information
about FTP incidents under the FMHS Fitness to Practise Policy for the past
5 years. However this policy came into force in November 2018, so there
were no FTP incidents under the Policy prior to this. There were fitness
to practice regimes prior to the November 2018 FMHS Fitness to Practise
Policy and the 2019 FMHS Fitness to Practise Policy Framework. Please
clarify whether you wish to request information on FtP incidents prior to
the FMHS Fitness to Practise policy.

I note that information on FTP incidents is more difficult to collate
prior to the 2019 Framework – please advise whether you are interested in
a particular programme or programmes of study for this period. It may be
necessary to narrow the timeframe or scope of your request to avoid
substantial collation or research – but it is not clear whether you would
wish for us to prioritise any particular programme or whether your
interest is more general and you would like data for all relevant
programmes for as much of the requested 5 year period as possible.

I note that, under section 15(1AA) of the Official Information Act, the
time limit for the University’s response to your request will run from the
date it is last clarified or amended.

Yours sincerely,

Rebecca Ewert

General Counsel

University of Auckland
