You may find the data available through the publicly available
[1]pharmaceutical data web tool useful:
[2]https://minhealthnz.shinyapps.io/pharmac...

This web tool allows users to see the number of people prescribed and/or
dispensed medicines up to 2019 in Aotearoa.

For example

Type of measure: prescription

Level of data presented: chemical

Show: selected pharmaceuticals only (emtricitabine with tenofovir
disoproxil)

Geographical breakdown: New Zealand

Additionally, we have responded to several OIA requests recently regarding
PrEP which you may find useful.

Hi Melody,

Many thanks for your reply and the helpful links.

The webtool you mentioned does not differentiate between initial and renewal applications. Would there be any recent data available for the number of approved Special Authority applications (both initial and renewal applications) of emtricitabine with tenofovir disporoxil for the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)?

In particular, I'd be very grateful for any data you might have on this:
a) at a national level
b) in the Wellington (CCDHB) region

Thank you for any help you are able to offer with this,

Bianca Sepulveda

Hi Melody,

Thanks very much for the reply. Ideally it would be great to have this information by the end of the week, but I understand that this is a tight time-frame. If it comes in after that time it will still be very helpful.

Hi Melody,

My mistake, apologies!

Any recent time frame would be good, eg 2020 if possible.

I'm also particular interested in data specifically from the Wellington region if at all possible?
