there have been some changes made by variation. Filter list is overdue for audit check

Tçnâ koe Daniel.

This email is regarding your OIA request for information relating to the
DCEFS and the Independent Reference Group (IRG).  Question 3 of your
request sought the Cabinet paper in mentioned in section 5.8 of the
November 2019 IRG meeting minutes.  This Cabinet paper is already
proactively released and can be found here:

[1]Proactive release of material relating to Countering Violent Extremist
Content Online - Issue 29 January 2020 (dia.govt.nz)

Additionally you asked for all documents (also in the link) and
“communications” related to this Cabinet paper.  If we take communications
to mean all emails and correspondence there is a very substantial amount
of documentation which the Department would have to refuse under the
substantial collation clause of the OIA.

I am emailing to confirm with you if, now that you have a copy of the
Cabinet paper referenced (as linked above), you still require the
communications relating to it?  If so, I would like to suggest that the
scope of your request for communications is narrowed (either by time, type
or writer/receiver).

Drafting a Cabinet paper involves a lot of people, internal and external
to the agency and a lot of the communications would also be administrative
(setting up meetings, exchanging drafts, confirming timing of delivery
etc).  It would be helpful to remove some of these items from scope, if
you do still require this information.

Please let me know by direct email. You can expect our response to your
remaining questions shortly.

Ngâ mihi, Emma

Dear Emma Atkins,
Re your comment "I am emailing to confirm with you if, now that you have a copy of the
Cabinet paper referenced (as linked above), you still require the
communications relating to it?"

I do not require the communications relating to it as the linked Cabinet paper is sufficient.

I am still requesting the minutes/briefing documents from all of the 2020 and 2021 (if any) meetings of the Independent Reference Group which haven't been supplied yet.

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Richards
