Parking Bay needed on very narrow road

From: Tessa
Dear Auckland Transport,
Can someone please contact me regarding installation of much needed parking bays in our very narrow street Ricketts Road, Wainui 0992 (new Milldale development).
They have 4 double bays on half of the street (no 1 -10), but none on the 2nd half (no 11-20).
We need space to park cars to avoid having to go over the centreline as we do want any accidents to happen.
Yours faithfully,
TK

Kia ora Tessa,
Thank you for your query regarding the creation of additional on-street
parking bays on Ricketts Street. There is no requirement on the road
controlling authority, in this case AT to provide or indeed request a
minimum level of on-street parking and unfortunately AT has no budget to
consider doing so.
Most new developments are deliberately designed with narrow roads to
discourage on-street parking and to encourage a safe environment with
lower speeds. It is AT experience that where this does become a safety
issue in the new subdivisions that No Stopping controls are proposed to
ensure that safe access is provided along the road at all times.
