Food wastage in free school meals

Liam Hehir made this Official Information request to Chris Hipkins

The request was successful.

From: Liam Hehir

Dear Chris Hipkins,

My request relates to Ka Ora, Ka Ako, the healthy school lunches programme (“the Programme”).

Can you please advise what information, if any, is gathered by the Ministry of Education about the amount of food supplied under the programme is wasted? That is, not used in meals actually consumed by schoolchildren and disposed of as refuse?

Yours faithfully,

Liam Hehir
