We are writing in relation to a decision made regarding your Official
Information Act request for correspondence received regarding the school
lunch program (ref DSOIA425).

 

On 27 February 2025, you made the following request

 

All correspondence you have received regarding the quality of the school
lunch program you’ve implemented, dating back to the start of term 1,
2025. I presume such correspondence exists because you said that many
children are writing in to you about the quality of the meals.

 

On 18 March 2025, your request was refused under section 18(f) of the
Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). This was on the basis that our office
did not sort incoming correspondence according to the personal
characteristics of the correspondent or nature of the feedback provided,
and to identify information within scope would require substantial
collation or research.

 

We are currently working with the Ombudsman to resolve your complaint on
this decision. To reassess your request, it would be helpful if you could
clarify whether you are seeking correspondence about the ‘quality of the
programme’ in general or specifically ‘quality of the food in the
programme’. Once you have confirmed this, we will reassess your request.
