Length of trains on North Auckland Line

David Farrar made this Official Information request to KiwiRail

The request was successful.

From: David Farrar

Dear KiwiRail,

An article at https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/3002011... quotes an RMTU official as saying:

"Just two trains a day use the North Auckland Line but Barr said the trains can be 2km long."

Under the OIA I would like to know for the calendar year 2019:

* How many trains used the North Auckland Line
* The average length of the trains using the North Auckland Line

If it is difficult to calculate an exact average I would be happy with other data such as how many trains were 2 km long, how many 1.5 kms to 2 kms, how many where under 500 metres etc.

Yours faithfully,

David Farrar
