Dear Auckland Council,
Further to my request for information on the Service Level review in response to the Local Government Commission's recommendations ( I have received the documents requested thank you!) I am requesting the costs Auckland Council has incurred on the Service Level Review Project to date, broken down by categories of staff, materials and services(contracts) if possible. I assume this will not include the time spent by committees, boards and the GB in considering and discussing reports and recommendations, unless you are accounting for these against the work.
I understand that this review has been incorporated as part of the larger Governance Framework Review exercise on which work is still being conducted, so please provide the costs of the Service Level review work separately from that if possible - if not then for the whole Governance Framework Review to date.

Like many activities in AC, work on the Service Level review is carried out by staff who do other work as well. Since AC does not have anything like an effective activity or job costing system there is no way to identify the cost of any particular activity. Conveniently, that allows AC to say they can't provide any costs (or revenues) associated with any internal project.
