Dear Lakes District Health Board,

Recently Carmen Parahi wrote on inequity in the health system and referred to white privilege, she talks about Māori not being offered the same treatment.

Can you please advise if there is any research in Lakes that shows if this has been a problem for Maori in the Lakes area.

Also as often decisions are made by clinicians can you please advise the percentage of Maori in each of the following areas:

1. Nursing
2. Doctors
3. Social Workers
3. Clinical Directors
4. Head of Department
5. Clinical Nurse Managers
6. Clinical Nurse Educators
7. Service Managers
8. Professional Leads

Please exclude the Maori specific roles and teams, and advise separately:

1. What are your Māori specific services in the hospital environment
2. How many staff do each of these Māori specific services have?
