Payments as part of legal action

BAW Russell made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: BAW Russell

Dear New Zealand Police,

I understand that the Los Angeles Police payout over $100million per annum in legal payouts. I'm interested in the comparable figure for NZ Police. Can you please provide me with the amount paid out by police annually for each of the last five years in legal payouts. This should include both payouts ordered by the court or other agencies (such as the Human Rights Tribunal) and payouts agreed to avoid legal action.
Yours faithfully,

BAW Russell
