Re-offending rates of those originally convicted for cannabis related offences

Matthew O'Leary made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Matthew O'Leary

Dear New Zealand Police,

I would like to obtain the following information:

1. The number of people who were convicted for cannabis-related charges per year for the past ten years.

2. The number of people in the past ten years who, after being originally convicted for cannabis-related charges, go on to commit a further crime. If possible, I would like to see a breakdown of the different crimes committed.

I am a New Zealand citizen currently residing in New Zealand. I would prefer an electronic reply.

Yours faithfully,

Matthew O'Leary
