Confiscated recycling bins
Nicolas Bosma made this Official Information request to Dunedin City Council
The request was successful.
From: Nicolas Bosma
Dear Dunedin City Council,
How many yellow recycling bins have been taken back by the council -- such that households no longer have use of them?
My understanding is that after a certain amount of warnings (eg: for trying to dispose of unsuitable things) the bin is taken away -- I seek the total number of times that has happened.
Yours faithfully,
Nicolas Bosma

Dunedin City Council
Dear Nicolas
I refer to your e-mail dated 3 October 2013 requesting information
relating to recycling bins and how many have been removed as a result of
improper usage.
Since the new kerbside collections contract began in March 2011, 42
recycling wheelie bins have been removed, as a result of contamination,
through the Three Strike process.
