Thank you for official information request, received on 18 November 2019. You requested the following:

1. Does the Reserve Bank monitor the percentage of interest-only mortgage loans held by LAQCs and LTCs ?
2. If so, what are the those percentages, and their $ values, bank by bank, and year by year since 2007?
3. Does the Reserve Bank monitor the number of interest-only loans held by individual LAQCs and LTCs, at least as a percentage frequency distribution, as in X % hold only 1, Y hold 2, etc, year by year since 2007 ?

Response:

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand does not have the sector breakdown held by LAQCs and LTCs.
