Request for advice to Associate Minister of Transport on when to build the 2nd Mt Victoria Tunnel in Wellington

Tony Randle made this Official Information request to Julie Anne Genter

The request was successful.

From: Tony Randle

Dear Julie Anne Genter,

I am interested in the Lets Get Wellington Moving programme of transport improvements for Wellington City.

I note a key element of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package the Minister of Transport of Transport announced on the 16th of May 2019 (https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/gree...) has been the proposal to build an extra tunnel beside the current Mount Victoria tunnel. I also note there is some debate on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the 20 year implementation period of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package.

1) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from the Lets Get Wellington Moving programme on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the 20 year implementation period of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

2) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from the Greater Wellington Regional Council on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

3) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from the Wellington City Council on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

4) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from the New Zealand Transport Agency on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

5) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from the Ministry of Transport on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

6) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from the Minister of Transport of Transport on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

7) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from any other government minister (including the Prime Minister) on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

8) Can I please have a copy of any and all advice the Associate Minister of Transport received between December 2018 and May 2019 from any other government ministry, department or agency on when the extra Mount Victoria Tunnel should be phased across the Let’s Get Wellington Moving indicative package ?

Yours faithfully,

Tony Randle
