Dear Tracey Martin,
What reports, advice or information in any form have you received regarding the creation of the Volunteer Firefighter to he paid for training.
Furthermore, what steps have you taken to minimise the risk of improper people volunteering for FENZ, who only seek money?
Yours faithfully,

Kia ora Dan,
In your request you refer to the creation of the Volunteer Firefighting
Payment Initiative.
The Department is interpreting your request as referring to the reward and
recognition package for Fire and Emergency volunteers.
Could you please clarify if this was instead what you were referring to?
If you could please get back to me as soon as possible so that the
Department may begin scoping your request.
Mauri ora.

From: Dan
Dear Tracey Martin,
I have laid a complaint with the ombudsman regarding the response to this request.
This information doesn't discuss any advice you have received regarding the creation of the initiative of which transcripts of your announcement alludes to the fact that it was your initiative and not FENZ's as well as a statement in Beehive.govt.nz stating that 'Consultation on a further set of initiatives will begin shortly.'
Your statement regarding the interpretation of my question is correct, and therefore I believe you are withholding information. So much for a 'transparent government'.
Yours sincerely,
Dan
