Kia Ora Mr Turner
We have decided to grant your request. However, given the amount of
resource required to process your request, we have decided to charge for
making the requested information available. We estimate that the maximum
charge will be $3800. The first five hours are free, followed by a charge
of $47.50 per half hour. Any unused component of the maximum charge will
be refunded to you.
Refining the parameters of your request may make the collation manageable
without any cost for the information. We have identified, from our system,
that there have been approximately 900 cases raised from customers
regarding footpath issues raised in the Puketâpapa local board area over
the past five years. However, our system does not show the result of each
case in our report. Therefore, to answer this part of your request we have
to go into each one of the 900 cases and read the details and make a note
of the result. We estimate that to go through each case and ascertain the
action taken will take three minutes per case and approximately 45 hours
in total.
Before we proceed further with your request, please confirm your agreement
to the charge and I will provide AT’s bank details.
You are able to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in
accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA Act, and seek an investigation
and review in regard to this matter.
If you have any further queries, please contact Auckland Transport on 09
355 3553 quoting Official Information request number CAS-1059903-Z0F0G2.
If you wish to discuss this decision with us, please feel free to contact
me on this email address and I will be able to assist you should you wish
to change or refine your request in order to reduce or remove the need for
charge.

Kia Ora,
Thank you for your reply. Sorry about my delayed response. Could you give me some guidance in how to refine my request? Would it be possible to get a small sample which I could extract the information from? Or is there a possibility that I could get the raw data and investigate it further myself?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately there is no accesible raw data because it is on our database CRM and the extraction process is very manual. For example, we have to open up each of the 900 cases and read each one and document the result.
I suggest that you shorten your time period to 6 months and then I will ask the business unit how long it will take to collate that information and then get back to you.
In order for us to help you it may also be useful for us to know what you are using the information for and then we could assess if there is another way to assist you.

From: Jon Turner
Dear AT Official Information (AT),
My apologies for my late reply, have been busy.
That is fine if we refine the parameters to issues raised in the last 6 months. The reason I am asking is I have noticed a lot of issues with footpaths in Mt Roskill and want to see what is being done about them
Yours sincerely,
Jon Turner
