Dear Mr Luke,

I write in response to you Official Information Act request of 15 April
regarding the membership of the Otago Business School’s Board of Advisors
or Taumata. In addition to answering your questions below, I have attached
the Terms of Reference.

What is your recruitment process of this position, selection requirements
and the current member's term of appointment?

Taumata members are invited by the Dean and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the
Otago Business School in consultation with senior academic staff and
existing Taumata (once the initial Tuamata has been appointed). The
Taumata will be wise and respected business leaders with a particular
emphasis on recruiting from University of Otago alumni.

The Taumata will not normally exceed 12 members and members will normally
be asked to contribute for two years with possibility of renewal. There is
no Taumata Chair. The members work collaboratively alongside the Dean and
Business School staff.

Please also provide the job description, payments for this position.

There is no formal job description for the Taumata however, as per the
attached Terms of Reference, members are given the brief to act as Otago
Business School champions and advocates both locally and internationally.
They are also mandated to provide advice to the Dean and Pro-Vice
Chancellor and senior academics.  This advice might be given one-on-one or
in a more formal meeting setting.  The Otago Business School retains the
right to adhere, or not, to the advice given.

There are no payments for this role.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Claire
