This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for JR to read a recent response and update the status.
From: JR
Dear University of Auckland,
Could you please clarify the assessment conditions for the Deans Academic Excellence Award in Law - how many points is the GPA assessed over / is there a limit as to how many points it is assessed over? If there is a limit what points contribute toward this assessment? Is it the student's best points in their courses or the courses they have undertaken most recently at the University?
Yours faithfully,
J

Dear requester,
I refer to your request of 20 October 2025. The University's response follows:
"Could you please clarify the assessment conditions for the Deans Academic Excellence Award in Law - how many points is the GPA assessed over / is there a limit as to how many points it is assessed over? If there is a limit what points contribute toward this assessment? Is it the student's best points in their courses or the courses they have undertaken most recently at the University?"
The requested information is attached. The relevant part has been excerpted below for convenience of reference:
“Each student is to be considered on the basis of their grades in all the Law courses taken for the degree (that is, based on the grades for all compulsory and elective law courses taken within the LLB or LLB (Honours), weighted according to the points attaching to each course). Grades in the non-law courses within LLB Part I, and in the seminar course and dissertation taken for LLB (Hons), will not be included.”
Yours sincerely,
Landon Watt
