Locations of injection wells

Paul McMahon made this Official Information request to Southland Regional Council

The request was successful.

From: Paul McMahon

Dear Southland Regional Council,

I would like to make an inquiry under the Official Information Act, please.

Please provide me with the precise locations of any injection wells which are used to dispose of the by-products of hydraulic fracturing in your region and the details of the substances (chemical names, volumes etc) being injected into the wells.

I would appreciate you providing the information in an electronic form.

Yours faithfully,
Paul McMahon.

Does anyone know how I can view these OBR files and if I can request the information in a common format, such as PDF or DOC?

Alex Harris left an annotation ()

"OBR files are text files containing the unique ID of the document in an Objective electronic document/records management system."

And indeed that's what you've got: a series of one line text files containing reference numbers, rather than the documents themselves. I doubt its deliberate, and I suggest you contact Southland Regional Council, point out the error, and ask them for the actual documents.

Dear Jarred Martin,

Thanks for your prompt response to my OIA inquiry.

However, it appears you have only provided me with a series of one line text files (.OBR) containing reference numbers, rather than the documents themselves.

If you could provide me with documents the files are referring to, I'd much appreciate it.

Yours sincerely,
Paul McMahon
