board and agency that DIA manage

john luke made this Official Information request to Department of Internal Affairs

The request was successful.

From: john luke

Dear Department of Internal Affairs,

I would like to know how DIA call for nominations for their board and agency they manage. I understand from the Ministry of Women's website that they are a total of 49 boards that DIA manage. Can you please confirm this is correct and can you provide the list of board's name that DIA manage.

Also, I would like to know how the general public can submit their interest to DIA in the past, so DIA can take their interest to consider for any future appointment.

Further, I would like to know if there are any upcoming governance position in 2019 for the board that DIA manage.

Please note this is an Offical Information Act request and your reply will be published on FYI.ORG.NZ website.

Yours faithfully,

john luke

Dear Mr Luke

Thank you for your email of 6 March 2019 in which you asked three
questions about board nominations and appointments managed by the
Department of Internal Affairs (the Department).

My response to each question is below.

 1. A list of the boards that the Department oversees can be found at
[1]www.dia.govt.nz/About-Internal-Affairs---Ministers-and-governance---Crown-Entities-Bodies-and-Trusts.
The boards are listed by responsible Minister.

 2. Applications and nominations can be received during calls for
nominations issued by the relevant portfolio Minister. These are
generally open for two to three weeks. As candidates need to complete
a nomination form for each appointments round, prior applications and
nominations cannot be considered in subsequent nomination rounds. The
Department can, however, receive expressions of interest at any time.
In these cases, potential candidates must identify which board(s) they
would like to be considered for. The Department will then provide a
nomination form to complete once the call for nominations is issued.
Expressions of interest can be sent to the Ministerial Advice team at
[2][email address].

 3. The Department runs several appointment processes each year. Upcoming
governance positions are notified on different websites depending on
the nature of the board, and the skills and experience sought. I would
suggest you send an expression of interest to the Ministerial Advice
team outlining which board(s) you would like to be considered for.

Thank you again for writing.

Môrena John,

I attach a copy of the email as it was sent from our inbox. You should be able to click on the link in this. I apologise for the oversight. I was not aware that FYI.org.nz did this to links in emails.
