Good afternoon

I refer to your official information request dated 16 January 2019 for information relating to the legality of vehicles parked on the roads for the purpose of sale across Wairoa roads (except State Highways).

The requested information is below:

The following section is part of the Wairoa District Council Land Transport Bylaw

3.4.3 No person shall, without the prior written permission of the Council, park a vehicle or trailer displaying advertising or sales material on any road or part of a road or on any land owned or occupied by the Council including any parking place. This restriction includes vehicles and trailers displayed for sale and mobile billboards.

I have attached a copy of the bylaw for your reference.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or Freephone 0800 802 602.

If you wish to discuss this decision with us, please contact me. I will be able to assist you should you wish to change or refine your request in order to reduce or remove the need to charge.
