I refer to your Official Information Act request of 2 December 2018 for
information relating to the Auckland Pride Parade.

I am letting you know that Police requires an extension of time in which
to respond to your request, pursuant to section 15A(1) of the Official
Information Act 1982, because the request necessitates consultations such
that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.

Police require until 1 March 2019 to provide a substantive response to
your request.  Unfortunately, locating all the emails between Police and
the Pride Board has resulted in a search of a large amount of material and
the response will take longer.

You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act
1982, to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision to extend
the time limit for deciding upon your request.

Kind regards,

Renee
