From: Aaron Chang

Dear Ministry of Social Development,

I would like to request information regarding:

The purpose of randomly selecting recipients of student allowance for evidence of income during a specific week.

The date of the last review of this process of 'randomly selecting recipients of student allowance for evidence of income during a specific week' and whether alternative methods of acquiring this information were examined.

An OIA request that I sent to the Ministry of Social Development on the 30th November 2018 recieved a reply including the following information:

"Please note that the period commencing 25 December 2018 and ending 15 January 2019 does not count as 'working days' as defined in section 2 of the Official Information Act 1982. Due to this holiday, a decision about your response would be due on 21 January 2019."

As this request was sent four days early I believe that I should have recieved a reply by the 15th January 2019 which is now overdue.
