Before we can process your request, we need to confirm whether you are a
person covered by [1]section 12 of the Official Information Act 1982. 
Section 12 only covers a person who is:

 

(a) a New Zealand citizen; or

(b) a permanent resident of New Zealand; or

(c) a person who is in New Zealand; or

(d) a body corporate which is incorporated in New Zealand; or

(e) a body corporate which is incorporated outside New Zealand but which
has a place of business in New Zealand.

 

Can you please tell us which of those five categories applies to you (if
any), and enough information about your identity to enable us to verify
the position.

 

In addition, your request is currently broadly worded, and would require
us to search a very large volume of our records.  For example, it covers
all of the information we hold on Bank of New Zealand, whether or not it
relates to the products you have listed.  We will be able to respond to
your request more quickly if it can be narrowed down.  For example, you

I can confirm that I am a New Zealand Citizen in terms of meeting the eligibility criteria for making the request.

As for the scope of the request:
Apologies if the scope appears to be quite broad. I am happy to narrow the focus down to all information disclosed to the FMA by Melissa Bowen relating to BNZ, Smartpay, Swipe HQ and now also MINT WIRELESS (or Mint Payments) .

You may have overlooked the advice in my earlier reply that we need,
“enough information about your identity to enable us to verify the
position [as to your status in terms of section 12]. 

 

You have indicated that you are making the request as a citizen (ie a
natural person), but have only provided us with the name of a trust. 
Please provide us with your name.

 

Again, I would be very happy to discuss this over the phone if that would

Apologies for the oversight. Manhattan trust is a New Zealand trust, the trustees of which are natural persons, all of whom are New Zealand citizens. I will be happy to provide sufficient documentary evidence but clearly that will have to be done outside the public forum.
