Re: Statutory intervention by Commissioner – Mapiu School

I am connected to the community of Mapiu and its school, which has been under statutory intervention since November 2011, when Mr Richard Clarke was appointed Commissioner.

I request the following:

1.A copy of the contract or other statutory document which the Secretary for Education has established with the Commissioner as the basis for his statutory intervention, including any accountability requirements

2.All reports, emails and other written communication submitted by the Commissioner to the Secretary for Education since the Commissioner’s initial appointment

3.All reports, emails and other written communication submitted by the Secretary for Education to the Commissioner since the Commissioner’s initial appointment

I also request explanation for:

1.Renewing or extending the Commissioner’s contract at the completion of his initial 12 month planned intervention (around November 2012), and any subsequent contract completion dates (if any)

2.Why transition from statutory intervention to school self-governance has not been possible

3.What will be required in order for approval for a board election for Mapiu School to be considered and approved by the Secretary for Education
