Dear Manukau Institute of Technology,

In its may 2013 issue of PPTA News, the PPTA reported that Manukau Institute of Technology had expressed interest in running a charter school. I would like to request the following information under the OIA:

* whether the PPTA's report is correct;
* if so, all documents relating to the institute's charter school proposal.

I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.

With regards to s12 of the OIA, I am an NZ citizen and in NZ.

Hi Alex,

 

Thank you for your request for official information, which has been
referred to me as Privacy Officer.

 

You have asked whether a PPTA News report was correct in stating that
‘Manukau Institute of Technology had expressed interest in running a
charter school.’ I am advised that the PPTA report is incorrect; although
one or more staff members may have participated in public discussion on
the subject of charter schools, Manukau Institute of Technology has not
expressed an interest in running a charter school.

 

As there is no such proposal, there are no documents that fall within the
scope of your request.
