Copyright clearance on purple suffrage floret image
stuart yeatse made this Official Information request to Public Service Commission
The request was partially successful.
From: stuart yeatse
Dear State Services Commission,
Note that this is a formalisation of a request first made in the tweet https://twitter.com/StateServicesNZ/stat... since I don’t appear to have recieved a response there.
What is the copyright status of the purple suffrage image with the text “Suffrage 125 Whakatū Wāhine” which you and other government organisations used to celebrate the 125 anniversary of extending suffrage to qualifying women in New Zealand?
If the image is crown copyright, please provide a clear statement of it’s release under a creative commons license as per NZGOAL https://www.ict.govt.nz/guidance-and-res... and https://www.govt.nz/about/using-this-web... ; alternatively provide a rationale for it’s not being avaliable under such a licence.
If possible, please also please provide the name of the original creator(s) so that moral rights can be respected.
I wish to use the image on wikipedia, which requires strict copyright clearance on images.
Yours faithfully,
stuart yeates
