Dear Jacinda Ardern,
can you please release the exact instructions you gave to the Minister of Social Development Carmen Sepuloni with regards to the outdated section 70?

Has your opinion about this changed in the meantime, if yes, please explain why.
If no, please explain why nothing has been done to rectify this unfair treatment until now!
Yours faithfully,
Guenter Langenbucher

Don't hold your breath Gunter, here we have just another empty politician sadly one who like Winston Peters has learnt that we 90,000 elderly Section 70 victims have no place in their conscience.
Ardern called overseas pensions snatching Section 70 "a violation of human rights" in 2015 during the Amendment Bill for the Social Security Act, promised change then ignored the injustice now in power shows they both lack any conscience whatsoever.
Peters forced the 2005 MSD reviews which condemned Section 70 as " out of date, unfair and inequitable".
He run way from it refusing to force change yet promised change ever since but now in power shows his true despicable nature, he like Ardern lied to us elderly, possible the worst double crossing politicians in our history.
Recommendations made through the Ministry of Social Development reviews on the treatnent of overseas govt pensions should have been implemented years ago but we live in a 3rd world country run by unconscionable self serving politicians
With parliament supreme over the Bill of Rights we lag behind more advanced countries.
Perhaps a plea to the Governor General to either dissolve this parliament run by this duo and yes The Greens supported change, or force the changes necessary to end this stain on New Zealand's conscience

I have been asking you, to release the exact instructions given from the PM to Minister Sepuloni whether to go ahead

Various requests of a similar nature to this one are forwarded on a continual basis.
It seems that within the current Government nobody is able to answer questions surrounding Section 70. There is an obligation to provide answers to both pensioners affected and the NZ Public.

What we have now is yet another two faced govt comprising of 3 parties who in opposition at the 2012 Select Committee on Social Welfare called for change to Section 70's unfairness towards overseas self funded govt pensions as chronicled by 2 MSD reviews, 2 reviews commissioned by the Human Rights Commission via the Retirement Policy and Research Centre at Auckland University both with the same conclusions, unfair and discriminatory.
Labour, represented by non other than Ardern along with NZ1st and the Greens lost.
In 2015 Ardern in the reading of the Amendment Bill on the Social Security Act called Section 70 "a violation of Human Rights".
Winston Peters in 2005 forced an MSD review of Section 70 which concluded it out of date, unfair and discriminatory and it recommendation 5 a pronounced statement of common sense called for only overseas govt funded pensions to be subject to Section 70.
He walked away the baubles of power much too more important, became Foreign Secretary, sound familiar?
Now all three in coalition have done nothing, we live in an Ardern dictatorial left wing world where feminism and genderism take precedence over the rights of us elderly to justice.
It all goes to show what a 3rd world country we live where Parliament is supreme over the Bill Of Rights and it's accepted that politicians can lie to us elderly to gain our vortes then throw these empty promises on the scrap heap of political history where they belong.
IThis week I had an email from the Human Rights Commission and in it it said:
Rather, you refer to the Human Rights Commission pushing for change in the interpretation of section 70. "Although we have an interest in the area, we have no immediate plans to promote legislative change in the interpretation of section 70."
It goes to show how little important are the human rights of us elderly Section 70 victims.
Yesterday I met up with friends, both in their 80, who have with others have a complaint before the Human Rights Review Tribunal over the spousal deduction feature of Section 70, there has been no decision now for 6 moths, as Mal says "they are hoping we die first" and it proves that govt agencies supposedly there to protect human rights are covertly supporting Section 70 along with the fork tongued leaders of the coaliion
Sent a follow up to Jacinda Ardern again.

Dear Guenter
As detailed in the response to your OIA request – the Prime Minister relies on her Ministers to develop policies and advice within the responsibilities of their portfolios. These are then brought before Cabinet to consider. The Prime Minister has not directed Minister Sepuloni along these lines.
Yours sincerely

So there we are Gunter, it all goes to show how politics should be likened to a sewerage pond, all the lies, false promises and mind numbing crap from 3rd rate politicians like Ardern and Peters who promised change to end this Section 70 injustice, always rises to the top.
It's been over a year since this dumb coalition came to power, more of our overseas pensions gone and as usual it will drag on and on and yet the number of victims continues to grow.
Since 2008 the number has risen from around 50,000 to over 90,000 now, at some stage more victims will realise how this scam works, all because an overseas govt pension has only to be administered by the govt issuing the pension rather than the nature of its funding, for it to be stolen under 1938 legislation.
Not until we have the Bill of Rights above parliament will New Zealand become a first world nation.
Nice try but the outcome was inevitable, you cannot succeed with politicians especially career pollies who have no consciences.

This is not an acceptable response from the office of the Prime Minister Jacinda Adern.
It says it all.

In 2015 in Parliament Jacinda Ardern as a list MP spoke at the Amendment Bill on the Social Security Act spoke at length on the loss of overseas contributory govt pensions, the date of the legislation 1938 and called Section 70 "a violation of human rights" and promised change.
Winston Peters who forced the damning 2005 MSD review of S70 has ALWAYS promised change and now in power both continue the ill treatment of over 90,000 of us elderly including over 60,000 UK State pensioners and Ardern herself said in the speech she will be one as she worked in the UK and understands the nature of its State pension contributory scheme.
Now in power the coalition has turned their backs on these promises and the state crime of impoverishing us with Section 70 continues.
Here is our two faced PM talking about the National shame/crime that is Section 70.
