Can I please request information on any significant purchase of new medical technology (example: Computed Tomography (CT), IT etc.) by Tairawhiti District Health Board for its hospitals since 2011.
Please provide the name of the medical technology/device and the approxiate cost incurred. Please also provide the year it was implemented/purchased.

Thank you for your email, in which you requested information under the
Official Information Act 1982.  You asked:

 

Can I please request information on any significant  purchase of new
medical technology (example: Computed Tomography (CT), IT etc.)  by
Tairawhiti District Health Board for its hospitals since 2011.

Please provide the name of the medical technology/device and the
approxiate cost incurred. Please also provide the year it was
implemented/purchased.

 

Hauora Tairāwhiti’s response is:

 

 

In addition to this there are some significant items in our current Work
in Progress or Commitments.

 

1.            We have entered into a contract to purchase a new CT Scanner
for $840k, and paid a deposit of $240k at this stage. This is to replace a
machine purchased in the 2010/11 financial year for 760k.

The supplier in this case is Siemans Healthcare. Delivery is expected in
October & commissioning subsequent to that.

2.            We have also made significant contributions to the Midlands
Clinical Workstation (e-Space) project. There is 983k sitting in WIP as at
30 June 2018, and a further 278k transferred to prepaid licences which
will be amortised over the 7 years commencing November 2017.
