Dear Counties Manukau District Health Board,
I would like to follow up on a prior OIA Request that I had made on 6th March 2018 in regards to the employment of Rita Yang at Counties Manukau Health.
It has been two months since my original request and would like an update on my original questions.
1) What types of surgery will Rita be performing? (FFS, Breast Augmentation, MtF, FtM {etc})
Your prior response: "Ms Yang has been employed by CM Health as a Consultant (Senior Medical Officer) Plastic
Surgeon, and will not be carrying out surgeries associated with a gender assignment service."
2) What MtF Vaginoplasty procedures is Rita able to perform / will perform? (Penile Inversion, Rectosigmoid, peritoneal graft {etc})
Your prior response: "At CM Health, Ms Yang will not be performing any of these procedures at this time."
3) What FtM procedures is Rita able to perform / will perform?
Your response: "Ms Yang will not be performing any of these procedures at CM Health."
4) When is a Multi Disciplinary surgical team likely to be appointed?
Your response: "At this point in time, there is no plan regarding a multidisciplinary surgical team for gender reassignment."
5) How long after a Multi Disciplinary surgical team is appointed will the waiting list be resumed?
Your response: "There is no plan on this."

Dear Dinah Nicholas (CMDHB),
I note that it has been longer than the 20 day time frame. I would have expected a response by June 01, 2018 at the latest.
Is the request expected to be responded to promptly?
Or does this request require the Ombudsman to intervene?
Yours sincerely,
Amanda Ashley

No new information on the matter was provided which is disappointing. This suggests either no further action has been taken by the Ministry of Health and Counties Manukau District Health board. Or that they maybe working on something that they are witholding.
